Metuchen High School String Orchestra
The Metuchen High School String Orchestra is the curricular orchestral ensemble at Metuchen High School. This group is open to students of all ability levels from grades 9-12 and meets every day during first period.
The MHS String Orchestra rehearses and performs a wide range of genres, from classical, pop, Broadway, fiddle, and modern music.
The MHS String Orchestra combines with wind players from the Band once a week to perform as a Full Orchestra, performing orchestral masterworks.
Students from the MHS orchestra have been accepted to the Region II Orchestra, CJMEA Honors Festival, in addition to participation in local youth orchestras. The MHS Orchestra performs at a Winter and Spring Concert, in addition to performing at the annual Campbell Elementary School Halloween Parade.
